Čakovice is one of the municipal districts of Prague consisting of three sub-districts namely: Čakovice, Miškovice and Třeboradice.

The photos attached to this entry were taken during the period of heavy snowfall in December 2023 in the village of Třeboradice. As one can see from the photos, the region and area of the Čakovice municipal district is very rural and yet is in close proximity to the city with easy access via bus and Metro to downtown Prague.

I live in Prague and I like to travel.

I travel throughout the year, (mainly Czechia/Czech Republic and Europe), and I have created this site to share the places that I visit and to profile the Czech Republic, beyond the lovely city of Prague, although to be honest there are many entries about Prague and the surrounding area. I have also included some brief histories of the Czech Republic and formerly Czechoslovakia, including some key historical events. These entries are included to provide visitors to my site, with some background to the country and its people. I think that all countries can be understood better based upon the country's history, and the Czech Republic is no exception.

I very much enjoy photography, and try to photograph as much as possible. If you would like to purchase any of the photos that you see on the site then generally photos are available through the site Picfair [https://fishinprague.picfair.com/]. There are photos, in particular those of the Old Jewish Cemetery in Prague and the Prague Spring which are not offered for sale. The latter because clearly the photos are not mine but selected from archive photos of this time in 1968, and the former because I don't think it appropriate to sell photos of a persons final resting place, even though it is difficult to know who rests in which grave given the overall condition of the cemetery.
