COMMENT:
Ctěnice Chateau, located near Prague, is a historic estate featuring a blend of architectural and natural beauty. The chateau, with origins dating back to the 14th century, has undergone various reconstructions and stylistic changes, reflecting Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque influences. The estate includes a picturesque park, offering visitors a serene environment to explore.
The chateau has a rich history, having been owned by notable aristocratic families and serving various purposes over the centuries. Today, it functions as a cultural venue, hosting exhibitions, events, and educational programs. The interiors showcase period furnishings and art, providing a glimpse into the lifestyle of its past inhabitants.
The surrounding park complements the chateau's historical ambiance, featuring manicured lawns, old trees, and scenic pathways. It serves as a peaceful retreat for visitors, enhancing the overall experience of this cultural and historical site.
If you are visiting Prague and if you prefer to stay out of the city, or especially if you are travelling with dogs, then I recommend that you look at the Pytloun Chateau Hotel, located within the Ctěnice Chateau complex. The hotel is extremely well appointed with ample parking and access to the surrounding park and countryside which is idea for walking your dog or dogs. Full details about the hotel, amenities and activities, can be found on the hotel website:
https://www.pytlounchateauhotelctenice.cz/en/
The address of the hotel is: Bohdanečská 259/1, 190 17 Praha-Vinoř-Kbely and the phone number is: +420 770 171 002
I have to assume that if you are travelling with a dog or dogs, you will be driving and to be honest this is the most convenient way to reach the hotel anyway. A drive into the city of Prague, outside of the rush hour, (so approximately 9.30am - 3.30pm), is very direct and will take about one hour to reach parking "downtown."
There is very easy access to woods which form part of the estate and are ideal for exercising both yourself and your dog. However, please be advised that the Chateau complex incorporates an Equestrian Centre and so horses and their riders are a common site.
The area is extremely quiet, peaceful and relaxing and after the "hustle and bustle" of the city, may be what many people would like when visiting Prague.
