The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary (Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie) in Blatná, Czech Republic, is a significant Gothic structure with a rich history closely tied to the development of the town and Blatná Castle.

COMMENTS: We have been affected by a very cold spell this month with temperatures, (even in Prague), dropping to -11C and not getting much above freezing during the day.

Nový Svět, meaning "New World" in Czech, is a charming and picturesque district located in the Hradčany area of Prague, near Prague Castle. Despite its name, Nový Svět is one of the city's oldest neighborhoods, offering a glimpse into the quaint and quiet side of historic Prague.

The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, is located approximately 150 kilometres East/North East of Prague and close to the border with Poland. The region of the Czech Republic is called: Rychnov and kněžnou.
