Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, has a rich and varied history dating back over a millennium. Below I provide you a brief brief overview:
1. Early History and Foundation

The Velvet Revolution was a peaceful, non-violent uprising in Czechoslovakia that took place in late 1989. The revolution led to the end of 41 years of communist rule in the country and the transition to a parliamentary republic.

When travelling to another country, whether for a holiday or for a business trip, I think that it is always good to know a bit of the history of the country that you are visiting.
Although 95% of visitors to any country try to understand and to be aware of local mores and cultures before they arrive, I though it might be useful to offer visitors to my site, a very broad summary of things to look out for, and to observe, when visiting Prague and the Czech Republic.

COMMENTS: Well, after storms across Germany and other surrounding countries, as well as here in Czechia, it seems that summer has finally arrived. That is not to say that heavy rain and storms will not continue to occur, but let us for now say that we are enjoying a bit of summer!

In 1942, Lidice was a small Czech village located approximately 20kms from Prague and 8kms from the town of Kladno.
